We went to a kindergarten to submit the form required for admitting for lil bud. That day was also a parent teacher meeting.
Normally the requirement would be for kids' (or any visitors) temperature to be monitored, but on that day, the teacher didn't do that. Parents and kids were admitted in freely.
Our kid went in there, played and touched the toys and interacted with the kids there. As expected, she caught something days later with fever, joint pain, and not sure what else. The third day was the worst of symptom when she had fever, vomited, and had body aches. My pregnant wife had to tend to our girl and by now I think both of us are on the waiting list to be the next patients ourselves.
As parents of school going kids, we have prepared ourselves for this. However, we didn't expect our girl to contract anything that soon, especially not before she is admitted to kindergarten.
We know that kindergarten is a disease magnet and a place for kids to build up body's immunity. Similarly, Kiddy Palace toys section and water park (murky the last time we were there) in our zoo are also known to introduce pathogens and disease.
We know the road ahead will be more flu, fever due to viral infection, parasites (e.g. lice), worm, fungal, and don't-know-what-else. Sigh.... I hope there is no foot hand mouth (FHM) or the dangerous types.
Cross fingers.
